I am writing a real estate blog to teach everyone to become informed homebuyers and sellers.  My goals are to share the knowledge I have gained through my own professional and personal experiences as well as collaborations with other professionals. In order to achieve the goal of homeownership, I believe that we need to be informed about real estate – the process, the people, and the options. Informed buyers can make great investment decisions that pay off immediately in the form of a wonderful place to live and, in the long-term, financially. Savvy sellers will work with their agent to find their home’s market value (not the sentimental value) and are willing to spruce their home by cleaning, depersonalizing, and de-cluttering make their home appeal to the most buyers in order to get the best sales price.

Millennial Focus: As a “millennial” myself, I feel that the millennial generation or generation Y has gotten unfairly judged in a lot of ways – people say we are underemployed, loaded with student loan debt, prefer renting over buying, have entitlement issues, depend on technology, etc.  While those characteristics don’t describe all of us, when they do, we can work some to our advantage. Technology can be a great aid in finding a home and figuring out how to pay for it.  Look at Pinterest, most of us have a “Dream Home” board, illustrating our goals of owning our own homes.  But real estate is more than just a dream. I am here to help everyone realize that it’s achievable. Once you have you finances organized, have a stable job, and would like to stay in one place for at least a few years, homeownership can be a realistic goal.

In order to achieve this goal, I believe that we need to be informed about real estate – the process, the people, and the options. Informed buyers can make great investment decisions that pay off immediately in the form of a wonderful place to live and, in the long-term, financially.
